Without the right equipment, tying steel reinforcement bars manually can put you at risk of developing unnecessary musculoskeletal injuries in the long run. That’s why it’s advisable to use a high-quality rebar tie machine to get the job done faster, safer and easier! It’s an innovative tool that automatically ties rebar with two to three wraps, depending on the project’s specifications, in just 0.6 or 0.8 seconds. Simply pull the trigger to make it work.
A good rebar tying machine should be able to perform around 4,500 to 5,000 ties per charge, depending on the model. Over time, it will eventually run out of tire wire and you will have to replace the tie wire coil. Normally the manufacturer of your rebar tie machine also offers replacement tie wire coils made of galvanised or 304 stainless steel. You shouldn’t have to look further and buy new wires from another source, and you can be sure that you are using high-quality wire to secure reinforcement steel bars!
Follow these steps to properly feed a new coil of tie wire into your RAPIDTOOL rebar tie machine:
- Make sure the tool’s trigger lock is on, power is switched off and battery removed.
- Push the black release lever until it is caught by the red release stopper.
- Push the reel stopper to open the reel stay.
- Insert the wire coil with the wire-end upwards and forward. Carefully close the reel stay and secure the red reel stopper.
- Insert the tip of the wire through the gap of the feeding gears and into the pipe (10-20 mm).
- Push the red release stopper and make sure that the black release lever is back in original position, and that the feeding gears are clamping the wire.
- Insert the battery, switch the power on, release the trigger lock and the rebar tie machine should be ready to go.
- Perform a test tie to check if the tie tension is set correctly.
It is best to get replacement tie wire coils in bulk, especially for big projects. This way you’ll always have replacement wire whenever you need it!
